Welcome

Psychotherapy is not always about focusing on the problems in life but is often more about solution building. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes - helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve your goals. It works by helping you to overcome problems using solution building concepts to foster change and helping you to develop a set of clear, concise and realistic goals.

We empathize with your struggles and believe that you are equipped with the skills to create change in your life, though you may need help refining and identifying those skills. It is also our belief that you know at least on some level what change is needed in your life. Therefore, we are professionally trained to help you clarify your goals and guide you to see what is working for you, as well as encourage you to experiment with new approaches to your problems.

Having a good therapeutic relationship is the most important factor when you are in therapy. A therapist is someone with whom you share some of your innermost thoughts and feelings. We will work to match you with a therapist who feels genuine to you – someone you can trust with your truths and who will assist you in your journey of growth and healing. Working with a therapist who is a good match for you will provide you with a safe space as you begin to make changes in your life and in yourself.

Give us a call to find out more about how we can support you in your journey towards your goals.

How do I start therapy?

Starting therapy is easy. Simply contact our office and we will set up a time for you to meet with one of our therapists. During your first session you and your therapists will be going over what issues you are currently dealing with. After that, you and your therapist will work together to get you over adversity.

How long is a therapy session?

Typically, therapy sessions last about 55 minutes.

How long should I go to therapy?

This depends on the person. Some people only need therapy for a few months while others need to attend therapy for years. Each individual is different, and it’s our mission to help our clients eventually leave therapy and live a life without needing it.

How often should I go to therapy?

This is different from person-to-person. Typically, people attend therapy once a week. However, for those who have been going to therapy for a while, they might only come in once a month. While those who are in more severe circumstances attend twice a week.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept True Health NM, Friday Health Plan, Presbyterian, BCBS, Western Sky and Centennial Care Medicaid. If your insurance is not listed, you can call your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you for paying out-of-pocket for out of network providers.

What if I don’t have insurance?

That’s no problem at all. We charge $125 + tax for the first session and $100 + tax for follow up sessions for those who do not have insurance or do not want to use their insurance.
